4. Freelance Services – General Terms
When engaging me for freelance services (including but not limited to web development, design, consulting, or digital services), the following terms apply unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Project Pricing & Payment Structure
All freelance projects are priced based on an agreed scope and set of deliverables.
Projects valued at £300 or less:
- Full payment is required upfront before any work commences.
Projects valued over £300
- A staged payment structure applies as follows:
- 40% deposit: Required upfront before any work commences. This secures project time and scheduling.
- 30% interim payment: Due upon formal project review or an agreed milestone.
- 30% final balance: Due upon project completion, delivery, or website go-live / launch.
Work may be paused if payments are not received in line with this schedule.
6. Deposits & Cancellations
- Deposits are non-refundable, as they cover time allocation, planning, and initial work.
- If a project is cancelled by the client after work has begun, completed work up to that point remains chargeable.
- Any outstanding balance remains payable for work already delivered or milestones reached.
7. Project Scope & Changes
All projects are delivered based on an agreed scope.
- Requests outside the agreed scope may be quoted separately
- Significant changes may affect timelines and costs
- Additional work will not commence without approval
Clear boundaries help ensure fair pricing and smooth delivery.
8. Delivery, Launch & Responsibility
Once a project has been delivered or approved for launch:
- Responsibility for ongoing use, content updates, and maintenance transfers to the client unless otherwise agreed
- I am not responsible for third-party services, hosting issues, or changes made after handover
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss
- Liability is limited to the total fees paid for the specific service provided
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
